Job summary

Hyosung HICO in Memphis, TN is seeking an Associate Winder to set up and operate winding machines for power transformers. You will read prints, select materials, and assemble coils while maintaining quality. The role emphasizes safety, TPM, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Intermediate mechanical or technical skills.
• Experience using various hand and power tools.
• Ability to read manufacturing drawings/specifications, prints or work instructions.
• Basic math, spatial, and practical geometry skills.

Responsibilities

• Basic set up and operation of winding machines and mandrels.
• Set up, manufacture, and finish coils (layer, helix, disc).
• Connect, solder, clean and braze conductor per spec.
• Inspect and document quality per tolerances and orders.
• Read prints, BOMs, specs, and work instructions to select materials.
• Safely move, handle and store materials.
• Follow standard work procedures and meet quality/production standards.
• Perform TPM and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Practice 6S and safety rules.
• Operate material handling equipment as required.
• Assist in training new employees and developing training materials.
• Troubleshoot and assist in corrective actions.
• Support Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager as needed.
• Understand Hyosung HICO policies.
• Be aware of Quality and Environmental Policies.
