Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an On-Site Repair (OSR) Winder-Apprentice in the United States to assist in the repair of generator stator and field equipment and to participate in required training. The role involves hands-on work with mechanical and electrical tooling, measurements, and strict safety procedures, under the guidance of the winding work-leader.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years classroom training in Industrial Maintenance or Electrical Technology or equivalent
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Ability to work rotating shifts and climb ladders/stairs as required
• Ability to walk/stand for up to 12 hours and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check including nuclear clearance
• Ability to read measurement devices (micrometers, calipers) and interpret technical instructions
• Strong teamwork, communication, and MS Office proficiency

Responsibilities

• Operates with mechanical and electrical tooling and may use powered equipment
• Records and reports daily time and measurements of stator or field
• Performs safety and housekeeping duties and contributes to safe working environment
• Sets up tools and parts as directed and adheres to lockout/tagout procedures
• Completes daily risk assessments and safety observations
• Performs other duties as assigned by the winding work-leader and Field Core GS
