Job summary

Invenergy is seeking a Wind Technician for the Plymouth Wind Energy Center near Marcus, IA. You will operate and maintain wind turbines, perform routine mechanical and electrical tasks, and climb turbine towers daily with proper safety gear.

The role requires at least one year of technical experience, the ability to work outdoors in all weather, and physical ability to lift up to 45 kg. A valid driver’s license and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of mechanical/electrical experience or technical education.
• Able to work outdoors in inclement weather and at heights over 80 meters (250 feet).
• Able to move/handle up to 45 kg (100 lb).
• Body weight must not exceed 265 lbs (120 kg) while performing tasks.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and related equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, with required safety gear, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical/mechanical functions of all turbine components and equipment.
• Troubleshoot faults and repair/replace components as needed.
• Maintain tooling, facilities and a clean, safe work environment.
• Work a 40 hour week with overtime during peak maintenance periods.
