Job summary

Vestas American Wind Technology is seeking a Repair Manager to lead the Wind Turbine Repair Shop, ensuring safe, high-quality repairs and efficient refurbishment of components. You will drive continuous improvement with lean manufacturing, Kaizen events, and 5S while collaborating with engineering and Quality Assurance to meet OEM and customer specs.

The role requires 3–5 years advancing responsibility, a Bachelor’s degree, and experience in wind or large-scale manufacturing; a strong safety

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of progressively responsible leadership experience (lead/supervisor/manager).
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
• Experience in wind, large-scale manufacturing or aerospace is required.
• Technical background in mechanical, composites, or electrical engineering.
• Certifications in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), OSHA, ISO 9001, 45001, 14001.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety regulations and policies are followed; implement initiatives to improve workplace safety and reduce risk.
• Promote proactive safety culture through training, audits, and incident investigations.
• Manage daily shop operations including scheduling, budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation.
• Oversee quality control to ensure repaired components meet OEM and customer specs.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues.
• Collaborate with engineering and QA teams to implement best practices.
• Lead lean initiatives to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve productivity.
• Support 5S initiatives to maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Facilitate Kaizen events and continuous improvement workshops.
• Monitor KPIs such as throughput, turnaround time, and cost efficiency; align with strategic deployment targets.
• Ensure timely delivery of repaired components to internal and external customers.
• Build and maintain stakeholder relations across the value chain.
