Job summary

Vestas is seeking a Structural/Mechanical Engineer to support Americas Construction, Service, and Global Engineering/R&D. You will troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, and design improvements for wind turbine mechanical/structural systems.

You’ll lead regional and occasionally global teams, interfacing with multiple functions and customers. Responsibilities include responding to inquiries, guiding installation issues, developing technical docs, and driving cost‑effective, safe technical

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or relevant discipline.
• Civil Engineering with emphasis on Structural Engineering or Construction; Mechanical Engineering.
• 4–10 years of engineering experience, with at least 2 years in Wind Turbine Generators or related field.
• Experience with systematic problem-solving (8D, DMAIC, etc.).
• Strong fundamentals in statics, dynamics, and stress analysis.
• Solid project management and organizational skills.
• Experience with customers in sales or service, and ability to work internationally.

Responsibilities

• Respond to technical inquiries from construction, service, sales, and customers; deliver timely, high-quality responses.
• Provide technical guidance on turbine installation and construction issues.
• Develop and review region/global docs, specs, drawings for mechanical/structural systems.
• Lead multi-discipline teams to resolve structural issues; prepare RCA reports and improvement docs.
• Lead component improvement projects to optimize safety, performance, and cost.
• Collaborate globally to share solutions; interact with customers and internal stakeholders.
