Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an Availability & Reliability Engineer for its Wind Engineering division in the United States. This role focuses on turning wind turbine performance data into reliability models and high-fidelity availability forecasts to inform hardware design and service contracts.

You will own the data pipeline, perform probabilistic modeling, and collaborate with Design Engineering to set reliability targets for new products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related engineering field (e.g., Systems Engineering).
• At least 1 year's professional or internship experience in probability and statistics as applied to physical engineering systems.
• Candidates with a pure Data Science or Statistics degree must demonstrate substantial industrial/mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience applying software (Python, JMP/JSL, R) and query languages (SQL, Databricks, Redshift) to solve physical engineering problems.

Responsibilities

• Ingest and analyze performance data to identify physical drivers of turbine unavailability.
• Develop component-level reliability models to predict life cycle of critical turbine systems.
• Partner with Design Engineering to set reliability targets for new products and verify parts performance.
• Own the data pipeline for statistical analysis and ensure high-fidelity reporting for asset dashboards.
• Forecast spare part demand to balance inventory with turbine return-to-service needs.
• Build statistical forecasts for fleet-wide availability to support LTSA and risk management.
• Model the expected performance lift of fleet retrofits or design changes.
