Job summary

GE Vernova in Greenville, SC seeks a Structural Design Engineer to lead FEA-driven design and analysis of composite wind turbine blade structures. You will own the structural model, perform ABAQUS/PATRAN-based analyses, and deliver results with clear documentation for certification and manufacturing transfer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Civil Structural Engineering
• 2–5 years in a mechanical structural design engineering position
• 1+ years in composite material structural design and analysis, preferably in wind turbine rotor blade
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Global experience; able to work with international/cross-functional teams
• Fluent in English, verbal and written

Responsibilities

• Own composite structure design & analysis for NPI blade and develop competitive design solutions
• Partner with Lead Structural Engineer to deliver FEA results within tight timelines
• Perform FEA analysis of composite structures using ABAQUS and PATRAN
• Highlight critical design risks and suggest mitigation plans
• Document FEA results to meet certification and internal design criteria
• Collaborate with Test and Validation center to ensure FEA evaluation for test blades
• Lead or participate in structure design reviews and stakeholder discussions
• Contribute to root cause analysis of blade failures and corrective actions
