Wind Tunnel Systems and Facilities Technician
- Perform Annual Engineering Audits for wind tunnels.
- Support Operations Managers and maintenance personnel in coordinating routine maintenance and repairs of VWT systems, mechanical equipment, non-mechanical components, and overall building appearance, including the envelope (roof, windows, doors, walls), lighting, plumbing, and related systems.
- Monitor the iFLY US trouble ticket system; assist staff in logging issues, provide technical support, and manage follow-ups to ensure timely resolution.
- Serve as the first-level interface between tunnel personnel and the engineering team.
- Deliver training on maintenance and safety procedures to Operations Managers, Maintenance Instructors, and team members.
- Respond to the Urgent Repair Hotline.
- Implement a scorecard system to periodically evaluate overall building conditions, identify areas for improvement, and use lessons learned to develop and refine maintenance procedures.
- Assist tunnels in organizing, adjusting, and maintaining spare parts inventories and tools.
- Evaluate escalated or complex issues to determine required repair services and necessary vendor involvement. Support scheduling and execution of planned shutdowns to minimize downtime.
- Review and audit vendor relationships and contracts.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Operations Managers and Maintenance Instructors through regular site visits and ongoing communication.
- Participate in iFLY commissioning, turn-over, and acceptance processes.
- Travel 30%–50% of the time, scheduled in advance, with occasional emergency travel as needed.
Work Experience & Requirement
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities or wind tunnel maintenance.
- Background in HVAC, electronics, electrical, mechanical, general building and facilities management and upkeep, or equivalent training desired.
- Strong analytical abilities with effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, general computer literacy, and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, initiative, adaptability, and integrity; team player.
