Total Aviation Staffing, LLC is seeking a Wind Tunnel Model Design Engineer in Huntington Beach, CA to design and develop precision wind tunnel test models for aerospace programs with industry leaders.

You will use 3D CAD (Siemens NX), perform structural analysis, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to refine models for peak performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical design experience, aerospace preferred.
• Proficient with Siemens NX or equivalent 3D CAD.
• Strong background in structural analysis.
• Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident due to ITAR.
• DoD clearance desirable.
• Experience with wind tunnel models is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop precision wind tunnel test models using advanced 3D CAD software, such as Siemens NX.
• Conduct structural analysis to ensure design integrity and functionality.
• Collaborate with a team of experts to refine models for optimal performance.
• Implement detailed design specifications for aerospace applications while adhering to stringent industry standards.
• Contribute to the design and fabrication of models used in dynamic aerodynamic testing and certification processes.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the aerospace or aircraft industry.
• Proficiency in 3D design using Siemens NX or comparable software.
• Strong foundation in structural analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR regulations.
• DoD clearance is desirable.
• Familiarity with wind tunnel model design, test fixtures, precision mechanisms, or machined-metal structural part design is advantageous.
