Job summary

Vestas is seeking a 100% travel MCE Wind Technician II for the Midwest region. This hourly role includes extensive fieldwork across multiple turbine platforms, focusing on major component exchanges and precision mechanical/electrical maintenance.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year wind technician experience or 6 months with Wind Technician certificate/education, or 2 years of transferable mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic experience.
Proven troubleshooting and major repairs on various platforms.
Able to work 100% travel and in varied site conditions.

Responsibilities

Prioritize safety; perform risk assessments and implement protective measures.
Perform major component exchanges including gearboxes, generators, and other critical systems.
Execute maintenance, minor to medium repairs, retrofits, and special projects per procedures.
Travel extensively to support turbine operations across multiple platforms.
Collaborate with teams to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality work.
Conduct safety inspections and maintain a secure working environment.
