Job summary

Invenergy is hiring a Wind Technician for the Gunsight Mountain Wind Energy Center, a 120 MW facility in Big Spring, TX. The role requires outdoors work, climbing turbines, and mechanical/electrical maintenance on GE turbines with safety protocols.

Base pay is $29.49–$49.97 USD hourly, with 0–10% bonus potential and overtime during peak periods. You will perform maintenance, troubleshoot faults, and ensure safe operations while handling tools and equipment across a standard 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1 year technical experience or related education.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and at heights over 80 meters.
• Ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
• Valid driver’s license and US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components.
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment.
• Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods.
