Job summary

Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician based at the Taft wind farm in Texas. You will perform routine service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Siemens Gamesa turbines, with a mobile team supporting up to three additional sites as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years in a technical field related to wind turbines, and the ability to climb towers up to 300 feet.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in electrical or mechanical systems preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in technical, mechanical, or electrical field related to wind turbines.
• Ability to work safely in a team and meet physical demands; passing a medical exam and 265 lbs weight limit
• Strong planning, problem-solving, and independent decision-making with a focus on quality and safety.
• Hands-on electrical experience including PLCs and converters; customer-facing experience is a plus
• Valid driver’s license with clean record throughout employment

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turbines, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs in a safe and timely manner.
• Climb turbines (up to 300 feet) and work in confined spaces at elevation.
• Recording and reporting service activity accurately using company tools and protocols.
• Travel to support other sites as needed and contribute to broader operational needs.
• You may take on additional site lead level responsibilities depending on project needs and experience.

As a Wind Turbine Technician, you’ll be responsible for the routine service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Siemens Gamesa wind turbines. While based at Taft, Texas wind farm, you’ll also support a mobile team that covers up to three additional sites as needed.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turbines, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Diagnosing faults and performing repairs in a safe and timely manner
• Climbing turbines (up to 300 feet) and working in confined spaces at elevation
• Responding effectively to stressful or hazardous situations, ensuring the safety of yourself and your team
• Recording and reporting service activity accurately using company tools and protocols
• Supporting the development and feedback process for new and revised field procedures
• Maintaining compliance with safety standards, site rules, and environmental protocols
• Being physically prepared for job demands including ladder climbing (minimum 87 meters), lifting, bending, working overhead, and operating in adverse weather conditions
• Traveling as required to support other sites and contribute to broader operational needs
• You may also take on additional site lead level responsibilities depending on project needs and your experience.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or experience in electrical or mechanical systems is preferred. Various combinations of training and experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a technical, mechanical, or electrical field, ideally related to wind turbines.
• Proven ability to work safely in a team setting and meet physical demands, including weight restrictions under 265 lbs and passing a job-specific medical exam.
• Strong skills in planning, problem-solving, and independent decision-making with a focus on quality and safety.
• Hands on experience with electrical systems, including PLCs and converters; customer-facing experience is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
