Job summary

AVANGRID in Trimont, MN is seeking a Wind Plant Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of a utility-scale wind power plant, manage the operating budget, coordinate outages with interconnects, and ensure prudent utility practices.

This role requires climbing 80-meter towers, leading safety programs, managing crews, and delivering continuous improvement using CMMS and diagnostics tools. A four-year degree or equivalent experience and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Four year college degree or technical school certificate; or 5 years of related experience or power industry training.
• Experience in power plant operations and maintenance.
• Ability to climb 80 meter steel towers daily.
• Advanced computer skills: word processing, spreadsheets, email, CMMS, and reporting systems.
• Work around low/medium voltage and in adverse weather.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment and crane/rigging requirements.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual budget and monthly profit and loss reporting.
• Manage crews performing operations, maintenance and warranty activities.
• Review and approve root cause analyses of major failures.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety programs.
• Oversee warranties and capital improvement projects.
• Lead staff, coach and train employees; conduct performance evaluations.
