Job summary
Xcel Energy is seeking an Engineer (Staff, Senior or Principal) in Renewable Generation Development – Wind to lead early-stage development and technical evaluation of utility-scale wind projects. You will influence concept development, site layout, and cost estimates while coordinating with development, commercial, environmental, and transmission teams.
The role requires strong technical leadership, experience with bid/evaluation processes, and the ability to drive complex projects to execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from ABET accredited curriculum (or recognized equivalency).
- 2+ years relevant engineering experience.
- EIT/FE strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Provides development-phase engineering leadership including concept development, site layout and design optimization, technical due diligence, bid and RFP evaluations, and review of energy and cost estimates.
- Partners with development, commercial, environmental, and transmission teams to ensure wind projects are technically sound and aligned with portfolio objectives.
- May lead multiple critical and/or complex projects, including budgeting, estimating, and coordination of work.
