Job Location: EPWPLC - Brooklyn, NY, Salary Range: $25.00 - $25.00Hourly, The Opportunity El Puente is seeking a dynamic, organized, and community-centered Evening Coordinator to support evening programming and operations at one of El Puente's Youth Leadership Centers in Brooklyn. This role is an opportunity to help create a welcoming, active, and well-coordinated evening environment for youth, adults, families, community members, and partner organizations. The Evening Coordinator plays an important role in ensuring that evening programming runs smoothly, participants and partners are supported, and the center remains a vibrant and accessible community space. Working closely with the Program Director, program staff, co-locators, and community partners, the Evening Coordinator will oversee evening operations, coordinate administrative and programmatic functions, support community outreach and enrollment, facilitate activities and events, and help ensure that programming reflects El Puente's mission and commitment to youth and community leadership. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, enjoys working directly with community members, communicates well across different audiences, and is comfortable balancing program coordination, administrative responsibilities, facilitation, and day-to-day problem solving in a dynamic environment.

The Role

The Evening Coordinator is responsible for supporting the overall coordination, administration, and implementation of evening programming and helping ensure that the site operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with program expectations. Reporting to the Program Director, the Evening Coordinator works closely with staff, activity leaders, co-locators, community partners, participants, and families to support programming during evening hours. The Evening Coordinator serves as a central point of coordination for evening activities, helping manage participant information, attendance, partner documentation, outreach, space usage, program updates, activities, events, and other operational needs. The role also includes direct engagement with community members through intergenerational programming, special events, outreach initiatives, and other opportunities that help strengthen participation and connection to El Puente. This is a highly collaborative and hands‑on position that requires strong communication, organization, follow‑through, flexibility, and the ability to respond effectively to changing program and site needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Coordination & Administration Coordinate the day-to-day flow of evening programming, including participant intakes, attendance, schedules, and space usage.
• Maintain organized program records and support required documentation for evening activities, co-locators, and community partners.
• Communicate regularly with the Program Director regarding attendance, programming updates, challenges, and site needs.
• Support program-related phone calls, enrollment, orientations, and other administrative follow‑up as needed.
• Community Engagement & Outreach Coordinate with co-locators and community partners utilizing El Puente spaces.
• Support outreach and enrollment efforts through local schools, community organizations, neighborhood outreach, and other engagement strategies.
• Build positive relationships with participants, families, community members, and partners while helping connect them to available programs and activities.
• Program Facilitation & Events Facilitate intergenerational, recreational, educational, and community‑building activities during evening programming.
• Support the coordination of special events, performances, tournaments, celebrations, and other community activities.
• Assist with orientations, gatherings, and other special programming as needed.
• Evening Site Support Help maintain a safe, welcoming, clean, and organized environment during evening programming.
• Assist with room setup, breakdown, materials, and light physical tasks needed to support activities.
• Troubleshoot basic space, scheduling, or program issues as they arise.
• Complete required safety and emergency-response training, including CPR.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency strongly preferred, with the ability to communicate effectively with youth, families, partners, and community members in both languages.
• Previous experience working in DYCD-funded, Cornerstone, community center, after‑school, evening, or community‑based programming.
• Experience with participant enrollment, attendance tracking, program documentation, or other administrative functions.
• Experience facilitating intergenerational, recreational, educational, or community‑building activities.
• Experience coordinating outside partners, vendors, community organizations, activity leaders, or shared‑space programming.
• Familiarity with Brooklyn communities and community‑based organizations.
• CPR and emergency-response certification preferred; candidates must be willing to complete required training.

Location, Compensation and Employment Status

This is a part‑time, in‑person position based in Brooklyn, New York. The compensation for this role is $25 per hour. The Evening Coordinator generally works Monday through Friday during evening programming hours, with scheduling based on program and site needs. Evening programming may typically operate between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM, and workdays or hours may shift depending on programming, events, community needs, or other scheduling requirements. Additional evening, weekend, or special‑event availability may be required depending on program needs.
