The position requires English literacy, BLS certification after training, successful completion of the hospital's Nursing Assistant program, and potential transfer to Nursing Assistant Grade S7 upon completion.

Qualifications

Must read, write and communicate in English.
Obtain BLS Certification upon completion of the Will-Train program.
Complete the Cape Cod Hospital Nursing Assistant training program and pass the competency exam.
Upon completion, transfer to Nursing Assistant Grade S7 (Job Code: 8003).

Responsibilities

Participates in the nursing process during delivery of patient care.
Assists in providing nursing care and data collection for assessment of physical, psychological, and social dimensions under the RN.
Implements a formal plan of care under the direction of the RN.
Attends at least four unit staff meetings per year and mandatory programs.
Adheres to safety and blood/body fluid policies and procedures.
Maintains confidentiality and represents the hospital positively.
Delivers service excellence to patients, families, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers.
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Demonstrates proficiency in Nursing Informatics and assists in unit orientation.
