Job summary

The University of Georgia, Savannah River Ecology Laboratory, seeks a Research Tech-Life Science II to support wildlife research projects and field operations. You will help develop and test lures, operate remote cameras, and contribute to population estimates across study sites in the Southeast.

Primary duties include data collection and processing, coordinating FLIR-guided aerial operations, and assisting with GPS collaring and related field activities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience.
  • B.S. in wildlife ecology or a closely related field; at least 1 year of professional experience or an M.S. in wildlife research/management.
  • Knowledge of field data collection, GPS tagging, camera arrays, and data processing helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Field evaluations: evaluating performance of wild pig attractants and field data collection.
  • Video/camera image processing and data management.
  • Wildlife capture/handling for GPS collars.
  • Coordinate FLIR-guided aerial operations and field logistics.
  • Guide and train other research technicians.
