Job summary

The University of Georgia seeks a field technician to support a wildlife ecology project on wild turkey reproduction and landscape interactions. Responsibilities include nest monitoring, radio-telemetry, habitat sampling, acoustic surveying, and data recording with a small crew on the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina.

Qualifications include a B.S. in wildlife ecology or related field, experience with radio telemetry and GIS, ability to work early mornings and weekends, and comfort

Qualifications

  • B.S. in wildlife ecology or related field preferred.
  • Experience with radio telemetry and wildlife tracking.
  • Experience with GIS.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for daily interaction with U.S. Forest Service personnel.
  • Ability to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends when necessary.
  • Experience operating 4WD vehicles.
  • Comfortable climbing tree stands and not afraid of heights.
