Socket.dev is seeking an Education Specialist/Programs to support Conservation Education. The role is part-time and focuses on developing and delivering education programs, school and community outreach, and supervising seasonal staff.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in education/zoology or related field, 1–2 years of conservation education experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and obtain clearances.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, zoology or related field and 1–2 years’ conservation/informal education experience required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer software programs and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Pa driver’s license and FBI/Act 33/34 clearances required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, prepares and conducts education programs including school programs, after-school and weekend programs for families and individuals, outreach programs, overnights and other programs and activities.
  • Handles and presents Animal Ambassadors to program participants.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to seasonal education staff; head teacher during summer Zoo Camp.
