Job summary

Arizona Game and Fish Department is seeking a Wildlife Education Curator to lead our wildlife education programs and manage facility operations, husbandry, and outreach. You will supervise staff and volunteers, develop classes and events, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate has five-plus years in supervisory roles, a wildlife-related degree, and strong program development, budget management, and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with wildlife conservation and education programs.
• Knowledge of Arizona wildlife, habitats and related sciences.
• Experience supervising staff and volunteers.
• Ability to manage budgets and programs.

Responsibilities

• Facility & Center Operations: manage enclosures, facility design, maintenance and exhibits.
• Animal Collection Management: oversee non-releasable wildlife and Desert Tortoise Adoption Program.
• Compliance & Safety: audits, SOPs, safety protocols, regulatory compliance.
• Education & Outreach: develop community programs, classes and events.
• Team Leadership: supervise staff, interns and volunteers.
• Budget Management: monitor expenses, forecast data and reports.
