Job summary

RuralMetro Fire seeks a Wildland Firefighter – Insurance Division to support prevention, mitigation and fire suppression activities. The role reports to a Wildland Fire Captain and may require assignment to an incident for 14–21 days across the western United States.

Shifts include nights, holidays and weekends. Proficiency with Word/Excel/PowerPoint and CPR/AED certification are required; a valid driver license is essential. EMT/advanced first aid is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Current CPR/AED certification is required.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• Willingness to work nights, holidays and weekends.
• Must pass a work capacity test during onboarding.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day operation of a fire station and apparatus.
• Provide support during wildland incidents as needed.
• Conduct wildfire safety checks and pre-fire planning inspections.
• Participate in drills and training programs.
• Engage with the public and participate in PR events.
• Operate company vehicles and equipment safely.
