Job summary

Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in Washington seeks a Spillman Unit Suppression, Wildland Fire Management Supervisor (WFMSup) / Lead (WFML) In-Training to support fire suppression and prevention efforts in the South Puget Sound Region. The role involves hazard assessments, community protection tasks, and field supervision of wildland engine crews.

Candidates may train toward lead or supervisor qualifications, participate in training academies, and perform duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• NWCG Firefighter Type 1 qualification or equivalent
• Two years of experience in wildland fire management or related field (education/experience equivalent)
• Ability to supervise or lead firefighting personnel and coordinate teams

Responsibilities

• Perform hazard risk assessments and community protection duties
• Oversee wildland engine crews and supervise field personnel
• Lead or assist with fire training and permit review and compliance
