Qualifications

  • Must pass pre-employment medical examination and possibly post-employment medical examinations to determine fitness.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and directs a firefighting module or crew.
  • Directs prescribed fire, mechanical, and biological treatments within fuel management projects.
  • Directs suppression operations and tactical strategies for attacking, controlling, or mopping up fires.
  • Operates, inspects, and maintains vehicles and equipment used in firefighting operations.
  • Follows vehicle safety procedures considering bridge/road limits, weight/length, and weather effects.
