UC Santa Barbara seeks a geoscience communications scientist to contribute to the Wildfire Resilience Initiative by creating, editing, and publishing a range of scientific communications. You will help expand recognition of WRI achievements, datasets, and services among the professional and scientific community.

The role covers writing for public audiences, developing blog posts and social media content, and collaborating with researchers to interpret data and maps for policy and planning.

Formación

• Experience translating complex climate science into accessible content for broad audiences.
• Ability to edit and publish scientific communications, reports, and blog posts.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills for diverse channels (papers, social media, blogs, press releases).

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with researchers to refine peer-reviewed articles and presentations.
• Produce engaging content for internal and external audiences and manage social media and blogs.
• Document internal processes for dataset generation and analysis and develop SOPs.
• Support grant writing and proposals to secure externally funded research.
