Job summary

The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District is seeking Fuels Mitigation Crew Members to support wildfire risk reduction through hands-on fieldwork, community education, and defensible space improvements. You will engage in outdoor work and contribute to prevention initiatives within Contra Costa County, serving communities like Danville, Alamo, and San Ramon.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Possession of and ability to maintain a current California Class C driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-emergency duties including hazard mitigation and public education outreach.
• Identify and eliminate hazardous conditions in wildland and urban interface areas.
• Assist with vegetation, defensible space, and fire hazard abatement programs; support inspections and chipping/fuels reduction projects.
• Operate small power tools and assist with related tasks.
