In this highly visible, strategic role, you will define and drive Wi‑Fi architecture and performance across next‑generation broadband gateways and CPE platforms. You will work hands‑on at the intersection of RF, embedded software, chipset vendors, certification bodies, and Tier 1 operators, ensuring world‑class Wi‑Fi performance from concept to field deployment.

This position is ideal for a recognized expert who wants to shape cutting‑edge Wi‑Fi solutions (Wi‑Fi 6/6E/7) and influence industry standards while working with leading SoC vendors (Qualcomm, Broadcom, MediaTek).

Reporting to the R&D Director, you will serve as the Wi‑Fi technical leader for wireless products developed in our US R&D center.

Your responsibilities will include:
Technical Leadership & Strategy

  • Act as technical lead and advisor during product definition with Tier 1 customers.
  • Track and analyze chipset, modem, and module vendor roadmaps (Broadcom, Qualcomm, MediaTek, etc.).
  • Evaluate and benchmark Wi‑Fi chipsets, RF solutions, and software stacks.
  • Provide technical leadership to firmware and software teams throughout the design cycle.
  • Guide engineering teams on best practices for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Drive evolution of software platforms (RDK‑B, prplOS, Linux‑based stacks).
  • Contribute to and promote open‑source initiatives and ecosystems.
Performance, Debug & Optimization
  • Define and execute test strategies and test plans to validate functionality, performance, and robustness.
  • Investigate and solve complex issues together with other Sagemcom teams and chipset manufacturers.
  • Analyze Software, 802.11 protocol, and OTA logs to identify root causes of:
    • STA assoc/disassoc, instabilities
    • throughput degradation
    • Security, Wi‑Fi7 MLO interoperability issues
  • Drive complex issue resolution with:
    • internal engineering teams
    • chipset and module vendors
