Perform advanced (senior-level) contract management work for the Vendor Outreach Branch (VOB) of the Vendor Management & Operations (VMO) Unit. Work supports the United States Department of Agriculture Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. Responsible for developing contracts/renewals/amendments, completing requisitions, describing services to be rendered, evaluating information supplied by vendors, and monitoring vendor contracts. Responsible for processing vendor applications, including determining eligibility, as well as intake of application and contracting documentation. Serve as the liaison between the Unit, WIC vendors, WIC Program Services, HHSC Procurement and Contracting Services, and Office of Chief Counsel for contracts, renewals and amendments. Monitor legal, regulatory and agency requirements pertaining to WIC vendor contracting and monitoring and resolving issues/problems relating to WIC vendor contracting. Responsible for reporting related to contracting in the Unit. Provide input for strategic planning actions and make recommendations and assist with implementation of new or changed business workflows. Involved with policy and procedure development and revisions. Assist with leading and/or prioritizing the workload of others in regard to contracting. Work under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
