Zusammenfassung

Amarillo WIC program is seeking a WIC Technician II/Peer Counselor to interview clients, determine eligibility for program benefits, and enter data for charting. You will educate pregnant women about breastfeeding, assist new mothers with techniques, and manage breastfeeding supplies.

Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, answering calls, maintaining logs, and supporting clinics with immunization records and growth measurements.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum one year clerical experience; two years preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License required.

Aufgaben

• Educating pregnant women and families on breastfeeding benefits.
• Assisting new mothers with breastfeeding techniques.
• Conducting breastfeeding classes in person, via Zoom, and in community settings.
• Assisting WIC Nutritionists with breastfeeding consultations.
• Instructing participants on use of breast pumps when needed.
• Maintaining logs and inventory of breastfeeding supplies and equipment.
• Interviewing clients to determine income eligibility for WIC enrollment.
• Issuing food benefits and filing copies in organized manner.
• Scheduling appointments in computerized format; following up on missed appointments.
• Answering a multi-line telephone system efficiently.
• Contacting participants to upload documents and assist them with the process.
• Obtaining height, weight, and finger-stick blood work.
• Presenting a hospitable, customer-centered attitude.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
