Job summary

South Plains Community Action Association, Inc. Odessa Clinic seeks a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor to provide basic breastfeeding education and support for WIC clinics.

Bilingual preferred (Spanish and English). Immunizations required for WIC staff. Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and be insurable. Completion of the 20-hour Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Training is required; a high school diploma or GED is required. Some Saturday work and varying clinic hours may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide BASIC BREASTFEEDING EDUCATION AND SUPPORT for WIC clinics.
• Coordinate with WIC staff to support cross-cultural families.
• Assist with weekend clinic coverage if needed.
