Job summary

Florida Department of Health is seeking a HEALTH SUPPORT SPECIALIST to serve clients in the WIC program at the Naples clinic, with occasional travel to Immokalee. Responsibilities include eligibility determination, anthropometric measurements, hemoglobin testing, and issuing program benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn FL-WiSE computer system, Department of Health software applications, and use calculator.
• Maintain client confidentiality and interact professionally with clients and staff.
• Bi-lingual in English and any other language required.

Responsibilities

• Performs client eligibility process for income, address, physical presence, and identification.
• Performs anthropometric measurements and hemoglobin testing as required for client eligibility determination.
• Issues program benefits (food package) and client ID/VOC cards.
• Assists with completion of client nutrition questionnaire and documents responses in the FL-WiSE data system as needed.
• Schedules client appointments in the FL-WiSE data system.
• Provides second nutrition education contacts for low-risk WIC participants based on newsletters and lesson plans.
