Job summary

Community Action of Skagit County in Washington State seeks a Nutrition Educator for the WIC program. This full-time, in-office role offers on-the-job training and opportunities to earn certifications while helping families.

You will conduct nutrition assessments, provide counseling, and coordinate referrals. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required; strong communication and teaching skills are valued. Training is provided and hours are stable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate Degree preferred.
• Two years of experience in WIC or related field; nutrition training preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client assessment interviews for service eligibility.
• Provide nutritional and breastfeeding counseling individually and in classrooms.
• Develop individual plans for WIC services and document required information.
• Refer clients for health care and social services as appropriate.
• Maintain client records in the WIC database system.
• Coordinate with program staff and external partners.
