Job summary

Community Action of Skagit County is hiring a Nutrition Educator to provide nutrition and breastfeeding education, conduct assessments, and develop care plans for WIC clients in Mount Vernon and Anacortes. The role emphasizes multilingual communication, client counseling, and coordination with healthcare providers.

The position is in-office, full-time, 37.5 hours weekly, with at least one day per week at the Anacortes location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED minimum; associate degree preferred.
• Two years of experience in WIC or related field; nutrition training helpful.
• Experience in interviewing, counseling and teaching preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orient staff to WIC procedures through observation and training.
• Complete the WIC Certifier training.
• Conduct client assessments for service eligibility and nutrition counseling.
• Develop individual plans for WIC services and refer clients to health care and social services.
• Maintain client records in the WIC database and coordinate with program staff.
