Job summary

Florida Department of Health in Marion County is seeking a HEALTH SUPPORT SPECIALIST who will support WIC participants and perform nutrition program duties across multiple sites in Ocala, FL. The role requires strong data handling, EBT issuance, and compliance with federal regulations.

The incumbent will provide quality nutrition services, promote breastfeeding, and work with diverse clients, with travel between sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience using Excel, Word, and MS Office Suite.
• Valid Florida Driver License and willingness to travel site to site.
• Experience providing customer service in a clerical setting to a diverse customer base.
• Fluent in Spanish (preferred).
• Prior experience working with children (preferred).
• Experience scheduling or rescheduling appointments and screening program eligibility (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Accurately compiles and records income, demographic and other information to determine WIC eligibility.
• Issue EBT card benefits and provide nutrition education in line with federal guidelines.
• Enter data into the WIC FL-Wise system and maintain accurate records.
• Promote breastfeeding initiatives and ensure safety guidelines are followed.
