Asterism IT Solutions in Philadelphia, PA seeks a seasoned Wi‑Fi Architect for onsite contract work (W2) with 13+ years of hands‑on networking experience. You will lead testing across CPE devices, gateways, routers and extenders, focusing on complex Wi‑Fi issues, roaming, mesh and security features.

Responsibilities include exploratory and scripted testing, packet analysis with Wireshark/iPerf/tcpdump, and collaboration with developers to reproduce and resolve defects.

Qualifications

• Linux Embedded Systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform exploratory testing of Wi‑Fi features across CPE devices, gateways, routers, and extenders.
• Validate Wi‑Fi functionality including: SSID creation and management, WPA2/WPA3, WPS, Band steering, Client steering, Mesh behavior, Roaming and handoff, Multi‑AP scenarios.
• Test Wi‑Fi across mobile devices, laptops, IoT devices, and smart TVs.
• Perform testing in dense client, interference, channel congestion, and environmental variation scenarios.
• Identify edge cases, race conditions, and intermittent issues.
• Perform throughput, latency, packet‑loss, soak, stress, performance, and stability testing.
• Analyze packet captures, logs, and system traces.
• Use Wireshark, iPerf, and tcpdump for troubleshooting and analysis.
• Work with developers, architects, and product teams to reproduce and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Execute limited scripted/regression testing while maintaining a primary focus on exploratory testing.
• Log detailed defects with reproduction steps, observations, logs, and packet captures.
