Job summary

United States Army Reserve seeks a Diesel Vehicle Mechanic (Part Time) to supervise and perform maintenance, repair, and recovery on wheeled vehicles used in mission-critical Army roles.

You will inspect, service, maintain, and test vehicles, electrical systems, and associated equipment, with 10 weeks of basic training and 14 weeks of advanced instruction at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA. Opportunities for skilled trades and health benefits accompany service.

Qualifications

• Must be between 17 and 40 years old.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Submit to background and medical screening.
• ASVAB required to qualify.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wheeled vehicles, trailers, and material handling equipment systems.
• Inspect, service, maintain, repair, replace, adjust, and test wheeled vehicles and subsystems.
• Service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, starting, and charging systems.
• Perform wheeled vehicle recovery operations.
