Job summary

United States Army Reserve seeks a Diesel Vehicle Mechanic to supervise and perform maintenance, repair, and recovery on wheeled and select armored vehicles. You’ll inspect, service, maintain, repair, and test systems including electrical components and wiring harnesses.

Required are a HS diploma or GED, U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, background/medical screening, and a passing ASVAB score. Training includes BCT and AI T at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA, with on-the-job instruction.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Background and medical screening required.
• ASVAB passing score required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wheeled vehicles and trailers; service and repair subsystems and components.
• Inspect, test, and adjust electrical systems including wiring harnesses, starting and charging systems.
• Perform vehicle recovery operations.
• Participate in vehicle maintenance and preventive care.
