Job summary

United States Army Reserve is seeking a Diesel Vehicle Mechanic to supervise and perform maintenance, repair, and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles that support Army missions. You will inspect and service electrical systems, subsystems, and components, ensuring reliability across critical platforms.

Job training includes 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 14 weeks of Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA.

Qualifications

• Be between 17 and 40 years old.
• Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Submit to background and medical screening; receive a passing score on the ASVAB.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wheeled vehicles, their associated trailers and material handling equipment systems.
• Inspect, service, maintain, repair, replace, adjust, and test wheeled vehicles and material handling equipment systems, subsystems, and components.
• Service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harness, starting, and charging systems.
• Perform wheeled vehicle recovery operations.
