Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic to supervise and perform maintenance and recovery on wheeled vehicles in the field and shop. You will inspect, service, repair, test, and replace systems and components, and perform recovery operations.

You will work on electrical systems, wiring harnesses, and charging systems, with duties including inspecting and maintaining wheeled vehicles, trailers, and related equipment. Training and benefits are provided by the Guard.

Qualifications

• Interest in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems.
• Interest in automotive engines and how they work.
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wheeled vehicles and associated trailers.
• Service electrical systems including wiring harness and charging systems.
• Inspect, service, maintain, repair and test vehicle components.
