Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic to supervise and perform maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles in the field and shop. You will inspect, service, repair, test, and replace components, including electrical systems and wiring harnesses.

Training spans 10 weeks of Basic Training and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT); you will earn a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance while serving part-time.

Qualifications

• Interest in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems.
• Interest in automotive engines and how they work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wheeled vehicles and trailers and material handling equipment systems.
• Service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harness and charging systems.
