Job summary

The Young Automotive Group in Layton, UT is seeking a Reconditioning Technician to repair and refinish cosmetic wheel damage, including sanding, masking, paint prep and applying coatings to restore dealership-quality finishes. You will operate sanding and spray equipment and inspect results for consistency.

Ideal candidates have experience in wheel repair or automotive refinishing, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• Prior wheel repair or automotive refinishing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with sanding tools, paint systems, spray equipment and automotive prep techniques.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Repair cosmetic wheel damage including curb rash, scratches, scuffs, and surface imperfections.
• Prepare wheels for refinishing through cleaning, sanding, masking, and surface prep.
• Apply primer, paint, and clear coat to restore wheel appearance and finish quality.
• Inspect completed repairs for color match and overall quality.
• Safely operate tools, sanders, spray equipment and other shop equipment.
• Move vehicles as needed throughout the shop and designated areas.
• Communicate repair concerns or additional damage to management as needed.
• Follow all company safety and quality standards.
