Job summary

Flanigan's Enterprises in Deerfield Beach, FL is seeking motivated restaurant staff to join its team. As a server, you will greet guests, take orders, and deliver meals promptly while maintaining a clean, welcoming dining area.

You must stand for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and communicate clearly in English. Florida Responsible Vendor and food safety certifications are required by Whale's Rib and state law. Benefits include paid vacation, health insurance, and a 401(k).

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and sanitation policies and training.
• Support staff in maintaining table appearance and running food/drink.
• Know menu items and promotions; answer guests’ questions clearly.
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS.
• Deliver orders to guests promptly from kitchen/bar.
• Assess guests’ demeanor and know when to involve a Manager.
• Handle payments (credit cards, cash, gift cards); give correct change.
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, and sidework.
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness.

Overview

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
• Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests

Qualifications

• Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Whale's Rib and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Whale's Rib and Florida statutes
