WGL - Supervisor, Transportation
Position Summary
Washington Gas is seeking a Supervisor, Transportation to lead our Rockville, MD team. The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily work activities related to the maintenance and safe operation of Washington Gas's transportation fleet and power-operated equipment. The role may include participation in a 24-hour on-call rotation.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Supervise a two-shift garage operation of vehicle/lube technicians for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs of light- and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
- Oversee maintenance and repair of Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs).
- Utilize fleet-related software proficiently, such as Fleetwave.
- Manage daily operations with current knowledge of equipment, natural gas vehicle codes and standards, NGV compressor stations, vehicle safety, and CDL requirements.
- Represent the company's interests externally, including expert witness testimony and contractual negotiations.
- Collaborate with external entities to review and improve existing programs, guidelines, systems, and services.
- Set and achieve goals aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Proactively identify solutions to improve customer satisfaction and respond to their needs.
- Gather feedback to improve services and anticipate future requirements.
- Recommend and decide on equipment replacements.
- Interpret guidelines and resolve daily operational issues with external audiences.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Class A or B Certification, Medical Card, and Forklift qualification within six months of employment.
- Knowledge of equipment and/or natural gas vehicle standards, NGV stations, vehicle safety, and CDL requirements.
- Proficiency in operating computer software and fleet management programs such as Fleetwave, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Workday.
- Ability to develop mutually beneficial contracts and working relationships with partners.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for specific business issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Willingness to travel within the DMV area between Washington Gas's fleet locations.
We offer a competitive salary range of $102,000 to $148,500 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. Our benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
