Job summary

COHERENT in Sherman, TX seeks an experienced maintenance engineer to own and maintain wet process equipment including wet etch systems, spray/ lift-off tools, spin rinse dryers, and CMP polishers. You will collaborate with EHS, safety teams, and process engineers on development and data-driven improvements.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance program development, and mentoring technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent semiconductor experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of experience on wet process or related semiconductor equipment.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain wet process equipment.
• Ensure safe operating measures and chemical handling protocols.
• Collaborate with process engineers on new development and improvements.
• Partner with operations to align with production priorities and maintenance plans.
• Identify and implement process/equipment improvements for uptime and safety.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs.
• Lead technicians in complex troubleshooting and PM execution.
• Support capital projects and tool installations/upgrades.
• Identify, procure, and maintain critical spares.
• Develop vendor relationships for support and parts.
• Develop project schedules and communicate progress.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement aligned with site objectives.
• Travel domestically or internationally for installations or training.
• Carry company devices for 24/7 factory support.
