Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Wet Mechanical Operations Engineer to oversee design, construction and commissioning of wet mechanical systems for the NY expansion project, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational readiness.

Responsibilities include validating P&IDs and equipment specs, coordinating with design firms, contractors and vendors, and leading QA, risk assessment and commissioning activities to deliver reliable and safe systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in wet mechanical systems engineering, including plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, or process piping.
• Knowledge of industry standards and codes (e.g., ASME B31.1, UPC, IPC, ASHRAE).
• Experience reviewing engineering documentation (e.g., P&IDs, specifications, 3D models) using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional coordination with external partners and internal teams.
• Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee third-party design and construction of wet mechanical systems including plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, and process piping.
• Validate engineering deliverables for compliance with project and industry standards.
• Coordinate with design firms, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure system performance, integration, and on-time delivery.
• Lead quality assurance, risk assessment, and commissioning activities to ensure system reliability, safety compliance, and operational readiness.
