Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Syracuse, NY, is seeking an Electrical Operations Engineer to support the design, construction, commissioning, and ongoing operation of electrical systems for a high‑volume semiconductor facility in Clay, NY.

The role ensures compliance with codes, safety standards, and project specifications while coordinating with designers, contractors, and operations teams. You will lead troubleshooting, perform load testing, arc flash studies, and maintenance planning, and help

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
3–5 years of electrical engineering experience in design review, construction support, commissioning, or operations.
Experience with power distribution systems, motor control centers, VFDs, and backup power.
Familiar with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, NETA, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, Revit or Navisworks.
On-site work at project location and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Interest in applying Agentic AI workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide technical oversight for electrical system design and infrastructure.
Review design deliverables, single-line diagrams, load calculations, and arc flash studies.
Support construction through RFIs, field coordination, inspections, and issue resolution.
Oversee commissioning, testing, startup, and validation activities.
Lead root cause analysis for faults and power quality issues.
Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs using CMMS and condition monitoring.
