Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Clay, NY is seeking a Dry System Mechanical Engineer to lead design of essential facility systems for semiconductor manufacturing.

You will oversee external engineering partners and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards across complex projects. Key responsibilities include coordinating third-party design firms, reviewing P&IDs, and optimizing system integrations with internal teams and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience supporting mechanical systems for semiconductor, pharmaceutical, data center, or other advanced technology facilities
• Experience reviewing mechanical system designs and ensuring compliance with project requirements, codes, and industry standards
• Proficiency using BIM tools for design coordination, clash detection, and system integration
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with facilities, manufacturing, engineering, and external partners

Responsibilities

• Coordinate third-party engineering firms in the design of process exhaust, HVAC, make-up air handling, and cleanroom systems
• Review and validate design deliverables, including P&IDs, equipment specifications, and system layouts
• Evaluate system performance metrics such as flow rates, pressure requirements, thermal efficiency, and reliability
• Develop and maintain design standards, construction specifications, and operational requirements
• Partner with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure system integration, quality, compliance, and project alignment
