Job summary

Metromont LLC is seeking a Wet Finisher to prepare poured concrete for curing. You will level and finish surfaces, operate standard construction tools, and help maintain a clean, safe work area. Team-based setting with varying schedules and exposure to outdoor conditions.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of construction experience, plus ability to read blueprints and a tape measure. OSHA safety rules apply.

Responsibilities

Job description

POSITION PURPOSE

The Wet Finisher works as a member of a team to prepare poured concrete for the curing process according to product specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• General housekeeping and waste disposal throughout the shift.
• Collect and prepare materials as needed.
• Assist during concrete pour process as needed.
• Level poured concrete using bull floats, boards, or screeds.
• Finish product using light broom, rake, heavy broom, swirl broom, trowel machine, or other tools as appropriate.
• Secure or cover finished product.
• Clean overflow of concrete forms.
• Operate various types of equipment such as hoists, overhead cranes, hand, and power tools.
• Pour and screed beds with bed carts.
• Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
• Housekeeping as required to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.

EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• 1-2 years of previous general construction experience preferred
• Experience with concrete finishing, bull floats, and trowel machines preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT / SCHEDULE

• Sheltered, outdoor environment
• Work area is not climate controlled and may be exposed to changing weather and temperature conditions
• Schedule varies with workload and location
• Unscheduled overtime may be required depending on business needs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires standing for long periods of time, frequent lifting (up to 50 pounds) and bending, repetitive motion with medium force, and an ability to frequently climb up to 4 feet above ground using stairs.
