This person prepare dry decorative papers and overlay material to run through the treater under the direction of the checker/Crewleader/supervisor. Performs other tasks as needed.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Inspect material for defectsDo required inventory transactionsMix raw ingredients for resin additivesInsure the proper function of the inline systemMake manual mixes as requiredUnload resin trucks and complete the check sheetObtain rolls of material based on treater schedule (oldest P.O. first) and prepare for staging or unwind turretReturn decorative rolls to roll inventory locationsPerform quality checks to insure additives are correctMonitor and clean resin in-line pump systemAssist dry end operation as neededMaintain a clean and safe work environmentClean the treaterRepackage and return material to the raw material inventoryTransfer empty chemical drums from plant to drum storage areaParticipates in the Lean process.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the Melamine Department and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standardsAbility to understand and follow directionsAbility to work with other team members to accomplish the department’s goals and objectivesAbility to identify patterns and finishesAbility to be comfortable and safety conscious when operating machineryKnowledge of computers sufficient to perform Oracle WIP transactionsMust be trained to operate fork/clamp lift and Drexel liftAble to read a tape measureKnowledge of mathematics as it applies to treater operationsWilling to train as back up checkerEDUCATION: High School Graduate or GEDEXPERIENCE Six (6) months melamine experience. If no candidates possess this experience, then six (6) months phenolic experience will be accepted. If no candidates possess this experience, then the Company will accept six (6) months experience in Manufacturing or DistributionPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight of 50 - 100 pounds.ENVIRONMENT: Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness.
