Qualifications

• Six (6) months melamine experience; if unavailable, six (6) months phenolic experience or six (6) months’ experience in manufacturing or distribution.
• Experience operating wet-end equipment and monitoring inline resin systems.
• Ability to read a tape measure and apply basic math during treater operations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect material for defects.
• Perform inventory transactions as required.
• Mix raw ingredients for resin additives and create manual mixes when needed.
• Ensure proper function of the inline system and monitor resin in‑line pump system.
• Unload resin trucks and complete the check sheet.
• Obtain rolls of material based on treater schedule (oldest P.O. first) and prepare for staging or unwind turret.
• Return decorative rolls to roll inventory locations.
• Perform quality checks to confirm additives are correct.
• Assist dry‑end operation as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including clean‑up of the treater.
• Repackage and return material to the raw‑material inventory.
• Transfer empty chemical drums from the plant to drum storage area.
• Participate in the Lean process.

Wilsonart builds careers, not just surfaces. Our Wet End Operator plays a vital role in preparing decorative papers and overlays for the Melamine department’s night shift (5pm–5am). This position supports the full wet‑end production cycle and works closely with the checker, crew leader, and supervisor.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Inspect material for defects.
• Perform inventory transactions as required.
• Mix raw ingredients for resin additives and create manual mixes when needed.
• Ensure proper function of the inline system and monitor resin in‑line pump system.
• Unload resin trucks and complete the check sheet.
• Obtain rolls of material based on treater schedule (oldest P.O. first) and prepare for staging or unwind turret.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations applicable to the Melamine Department.
• Ability to understand and follow directions and work collaboratively with team members.
• Ability to identify patterns and finishes and to operate machinery safely.
• Computer literacy sufficient for Oracle WIP transactions.
• Trained to operate fork/clamp lift and Drexel lift.
• Able to read a tape measure and apply mathematical concepts to treater operations.
• Willing to train as backup checker.

Minimum Requirements

Physical Requirements

Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, pushing, climbing, and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (50–100lbs).

Environment

Indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature extremes, loud noises, and bright lights.
