Job summary

Wilsonart in Fletcher, NC is seeking a Production Associate for the Press department. You will operate the plate lift, separate pressed laminate, and stack materials as part of a two-person team, while upholding quality and safety standards on a long shift.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and about 1 year of related work experience. Training and advancement opportunities are provided in a supportive environment with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of manufacturing/industrial experience preferred.
  • Experience operating a lift truck is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate plate lift and stack laminate in the Press department.
  • Lays up component material and prepares laminate per production process.
  • Identify and report non-standard deviations; follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Log production data: material, type, size, run, settings, rejects.
  • Perform lock-out/tag-out procedures and routine preventative maintenance checks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and quality standards.

Works under the direction of Press Operators/Foreman.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES: 1. Retrieves and inspects component material, plates, and laminate. 2. As part of a two person team, lays up the component material and lays off completed laminate according to the production process. 3. Initiates corrective action if production operations are not standard. 4. Logs production information such as: material produced, type, size, run, control settings, rejects, etc. 5. Performs lock-out/tag-out procedures and preventative maintenance checks and follows all safety policies and procedures. 6. Participates in the Wilsonart Continuous Improvement system and complies with all quality standards.Perform other position duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to work in a safe manner following company guidelines and procedures.Knowledge of computers, sufficient to enter data into system.Ability to identify patterns and finishes and follow quality specs.Ability to operate a lift truck.Skill in hand and eye coordination.Ability to perform basic math functions.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION: High School Graduate/GED or combination of equivalent education and work history.EXPERIENCE: 1 year of work experience, preferably in a manufacturing/industrial environment.WORKING CONDITIONS:PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy work - tasks involve pushing/pulling, lifting and standing or using force equal to handling materials or 50 to 100 pounds.
